Technique: Handspun single ply weft throughout, weft ikat in handspun cotton single ply in the border areas and paired handspun cotton single ply in the center, silk handspun warp stripes, handspun and commercially spun multi colored supplementary weft wrapping.

Description: An extraordinary richly colored ikat center with thin light-colored silk stripes emphasizing the rich tonalities of the ikat. The ends have small swimming creatures and small blocks with a stepped design. The figures appear to float against the rich red background.

Condition: Very good; wear on both end selvages

Dimensions: 23" wide x 63" long ( 0.59 x 1.6 m )
